These pages provide information about the automated Spitzer processing pipeline at the SSC. The main categories of processing items are:
  • Data Items: related to the detector and data collection process;
    Example: the strong pattern noise on side-B of the 70 microns array.

  • Calibration Items: affecting the calibration of the data;
    Example: using scan mirror position and scan rate dependent flats for 24 microns data.

  • Pipeline Items: directly associated with the processing steps of the pipeline;
    Example: cosmic ray rejection is not functioning well.

The pipeline processing items are listed as a function of SSC Operations software version number which gets incremented with every release. A pipeline version with 2 digits, for example S10.0, refers to major builds and releases where the data products are likely affected. A pipeline version with 3 digits, for example S10.0.1, means that a minor update or patch was applied to the SSC operation system. These minor updates may or may not include changes to the pipelines.
