IR Compendium: Gamma Velorum |
Gamma Velorum is an example of a Wolf-Rayet Star with clear emission lines of Neon. ISO-LWS spectra show the fine structure lines of [CII], [NII], [NIII] and [OIII] which are used to determine abundances of C, N, and O in the outer winds of the star. Unlike other Wolf-Rayet stars observed by ISO, Gamma Velorum lacks any emission features caused by carbon dust.

This SED was created using the sensitivity and saturation values available in November 2004. The black dots are the flux values from the above table. The green and red lines are the respective sensitivity and saturation limits for each instrument. The sensitivity values used are for a 5 sigma detection of a point source with a 500 second exposure. |
