2.4.1 Start Spot

Assuming for the moment that we have some observation program in mind, and we wish to design a Spitzer observation, we are ready to fire-up the software (Spot) to do so.

Under UNIX/LINUX, type $PATH/spot (where $PATH is the path to where Spot was installed). On a PC, simply double-click on the Spitzer icon.

The start-up Spot window should appear, and is illustrated in Figure 2.1.
