This is the most common and frustrating problem we encounter.
Before you submit a proposal please, please, please
check that you are not duplicating existing observations.
You must check your targets against the Reserved Observations Catalog
database using Leopard to verify that your desired targets have
not already been observed, or approved for observations, with Spitzer.
We do check every single AOR against the Reserved Observations
Catalog ourselves before we release that AOR for scheduling.
AORs which are found to be duplicate observations are removed
from an observing program, and the proposer's funding is reduced accordingly.
Please take the few minutes required to check your targets for duplications
ahead of proposal submission.
