User's Guides

To run single-frame point source extraction (on mosaic image), you will need to:

  • Download and install the MOPEX package
    Follow the instructions to download and install MOPEX
  • The PRF (Point Response Function) images can be found in the cal/ directory of the MOPEX package.
  • For point source extraction on a mosaic image, you should have created a mosaic image using the mosaicker (see Imaging: Mosaicking) or you may choose to do the extraction on the mosaic created by the SSC pipeline

To run multi-frame point source extraction (on individual BCDs), you will need to:

Common Problems

  • Don't forget to set the appropriate paths in mopex.csh
  • Remember to source mopex.csh before running the code
