How to extract IRS campaign 37 (8-24 Dec 06) data using the current version of SPICE (13 Feb 07): Data from IRS campaign 37 (8-24 Dec 06), reprocessed with S15 (the new version of the IRS Pipeline), is now available in the archive. Currently, this is the only campaign that has been reprocessed with S15. A list of the updates in this pipeline will be posted shortly in http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/archanaly/plhistory/irs.html. SPICE does not yet have updated S15 calibration files. If you want to extract IRS spectra of this campaign using SPICE, you need to point the application to the correct Cal and CDF directories. This is what you should do: 1-Download the Cal directory for your AOR from Leopard. All the files SPICE need from this directory are constant for different AORs, so you only need to download one Cal for all your AORs. 2-Open SPICE, select "View", "SPICE", "Cal","show" 3-Select "View", "SPICE", "CDF","show" 4-At the bottom of the SPICE window, select "Cal" 5-Specify the position of the cal directory in "Cal Directory" 6-At the bottom of the SPICE window, select "CDF" 7-Specify the position of the cdf directory in "CDF Directory". This should be: AAA/SPICE/irs/cdf/C13.0, where AAA is the complete path to the directory where SPICE was installed. 8-From AAA/SPICE/irs/cal/C13.0, copy all files whose name contains the characters "rectempl" to you cal directory And you are done! SPICE now should work as you are used to. Notice that you are using the S14 rectempl files, which will be replaced in S15. These control the results of optimal extract only. We expect that the change to S15 will result in very small changes in the rectempl files.
