Subject: SPITZER: Re-processed IRS SL and LH data 1. Re-processed IRS SL and LH data -------------------------------------------------- This is to inform users that a small subset of the IRS Long-High (LH) and Short-Low (SL) data had improper calibration files applied to them in the S15 pipelines. The affected IRS LH (channel 3) data had incorrect dark calibration files subtracted in the S15 pipelines. Instead of campaign-dependent LH darks, these data were reduced in the BCD threads with a multi- campaign dark. This may result in more rogue pixels being evident in your LH data taken during these periods. The affected LH data were taken in IRS campaigns 29 through 34 and in campaign 36 as follows: IRS-29 (IRSX006300): 3-22 March 2006 IRS-30 (IRSX006500): 15-26 April 2006 IRS-31 (IRSX006700): 10-31 May 2006 IRS-32 (IRSX006800): 18 June - 5 July 2006 IRS-33 (IRSX007200): 23 July - 7 August 2006 IRS-33.3 (IRSX009600): 31 August 2006 (Post-Anomaly Science Verification) IRS-34 (IRSX007400): 5-18 September 2006 IRS-36 (IRSX007600): 8-21 November 2006 The affected IRS SL (channel 0) data were processed using an outdated mask file used to estimate (and remove) the peakup stray light. Observations in SL order 1 may be affected when a bright source is present in SL order 2. The effect will be a dark "banding" in the order 1 spectrum at approximately 10 microns (rows 82-90). The affected SL data were taken in IRS campaigns 38-41 as follows: IRS-38 (IRSX007800): 23 January - 14 February 2007 IRS-39 (IRSX008000): 7-28 March 2007 IRS-40 (IRSX008100): 15 April - 6 May 2007 IRS-41 (IRSX008200): 7-27 June 2007 The LH and SL data described above have been re-processed with the correct calibration files in the S16.1.0 IRS pipelines. These data are now available through Leopard. From IRS-40 onward, all data have been processed with S16.
