| Profile |
Creates a wavelength-collapsed average spatial profile of the slit used in the observation. |
*.profile.tbl |
| Ridge |
Identifies the location for point source extraction by identifying the peak in the Profile output,
or using a user-specified fractional location along the slit. |
*.ridge.tbl |
| Extract |
In the high resolution slits, this module
extracts a 1D spectrum from the full slit. In the low resolution slits,
the spectrum is extracted along the Ridge location in accordance
with the wavelength-dependent Point Spread Function (PSF) and the
spectral trace. The Extract module can employ a window with a different
width, but the width will still scale with wavelength unless
a full-slit extraction is specified.
The user has a choice of "Regular" unweighted extraction, or profile-weighted or signal-to-noise weighted "Optimal" extraction.

*.extract.tbl |
| Point Source Tune |
Converts the extracted spectrum from units of electrons per second to flux density (Jy). This module is for point source extractions. Extended Source Tune should be used for extended sources. The conversion is only valid for the standard extraction width. |
*.spect.tbl |
| Extended Source Tune |
Converts the extracted spectrum from units of electrons per second to flux density (Jy). This module is for extended source extractions only. Point Source Tune should be used for point sources. The conversion is only valid for the full-width (28pix in low res) extraction aperture. |
*.extsrc_spect1.tbl and *.extsrc_spect2.tbl. The first (spect1) is the flux tuned spectrum with only the aploss correction. The second (spect2) is the spectrum with both the aploss and slitloss corrections applied. Both are written to the output directory, and the second is displayed in the SPICE plot window. |
