How to use this manual

This manual is split into 5 main parts:
  1. Introductory material for MOPEX in general, including a high-level overview of the software

  2. Input files and requirements for MOPEX

  3. The information needed to run the reduction scripts that make up MOPEX, including a full listing and description of each module called by each script

  4. Basic Concepts in MOPEX, with in-depth discussions of the algorithms implemented

  5. Appendices, with useful tables and supplementary material

We recommend that all users start by reading the introductory pages before diving into MOPEX, and it will be easier to follow the manual if you also have a copy of a simple namelist (parameter input list) in front of you as go.

Once you are up to speed on the basic workings of MOPEX, there are two places you will need to go as a reference guide. The most useful pages will probably be the individual module listings. These pages give the namelist triggers needed turn on/off each module in the reduction process, describe in detail what each module does, give the default output directories for each module, give a full list of input and output files/parameters for the module, and link to the important basic concepts. The second essential resource is the "Namelist Options" page for each of the main reduction scripts. These pages give a full list and description of all of the input parameters that are not specified in any single module, and list the syntax for creating your namelist (input parameter) file.
