Running APEX on the Command Line

To run with the default namelists for e.g. MIPS-24 data, type the following command in the running directory:

prompt> apex.pl -n apex_M1.nl

or, for source extraction on a single MIPS-24 frame (e.g. your mosaic):

prompt> apex_1frame.pl -n apex_1frame_M1.nl

By default, the namelists should be in the cdf/ subdirectory.

To run with your own set of file names, use the following syntax:

prompt> apex.pl -n myapex.nl

or, for source extraction on a single frame:

prompt> apex_1frame.pl -n myapex_1frame.nl

To redirect the output to a file called "apex.log", use the following syntax:

prompt> apex.pl -n myapex.nl > apex.log

Running a Single Module of the Astronomical Point Source Extraction Software

To run a single module, you need to edit the namelist file myapex.nl.

For example, to run the module sourcestimate, set

run_sourcestimate = 1

and all other modules

run_* = 0.

Note:  Make sure that you have generated the input files that this module calls.
