Hi folks -


(1) feedback on CP-1?
Thanks for all of your support during CP-1!  If you submitted a proposal
for Spitzer GO1 cycle and you have comments on anything (documentation
[web and manuals], SPOT, the process itself), good or bad, please send it
along to help@spitzer.caltech.edu.


(2) statistics on CP-1
We have now posted statistics on CP-1.  We are still weeding out
incomplete proposal submissions, so the numbers may still fluctuate, but
are pretty stable.

(3) visiting grad student program
We have 6-month grad student fellowships available.  New opportunities
have been posted; deadline is March 15.

(5) New Views of the Cosmos conference announcement

The first Spitzer Science Symposium "The Spitzer Space
Telescope: New Views of the Cosmos" will be held in
Pasadena, CA from 9-12 November, 2004.

The symposium will be devoted to discussion of the first
years' scientific results from this powerful new facility,
to placing them in context with other observational,
theoretical, and laboratory studies, and to consideration
of future opportunities, both with Spitzer and with other
observatories.

Major topical sessions will focus on:  The Solar System;
Star Formation and Planetary Debris Disks; Galactic
Structure and Interstellar Matter; Normal, Starburst and
Active Galaxies; Surveys, Backgrounds and Confusion Limits.
The conference proceedings will be published.

In addition to a number of invited talks, there will be
opportunities for contributed talks and posters on Spitzer
results or on closely related topics.  Space will be reserved
for late-breaking observational results, particularly from
Spitzer Cycle 1 General Observers who will start their
observations in July 2004.

A special, half-day technical discussion will take place on
Saturday, November 13th, which will focus on observation
planning, new AOTs available for the second Spitzer
call for proposals, running SPOT, etc.


Limited funding will be available to support student
and postdoc participation.
