From help@spitzer.caltech.edu Fri Apr 16 15:03:16 2004 Date: Fri, 16 Apr 2004 14:50:58 -0700 (PDT) Subject: SIRTF: Conference: From Spitzer to Herschel and Beyond From Spitzer to Herschel and Beyond: The Future of Far-IR Space Astrophysics Hosted by the JPL Center for Long Wavelength Astrophysics (CLWA) and Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC) June 7-10, 2004 Pasadena Convention Center Pasadena, CA http://safir.jpl.nasa.gov/BeyondSpitzerConf/index.cfm "From Spitzer to Herschel and Beyond" will be a forum for the long- wavelength astrophysics community to explore scientific questions and technical capabilities of the next two decades. Because far-IR observations require novel detector and instrument architecture as well as cryogenic space observatories, substantial technical effort is required for new scientific discoveries. The purpose of this conference is to bring together astrophysicists and technology experts to take stock of recent progress and plan for the future. Now is the time to mark your calendar and plan to attend this exciting conference! Registration and abstract submission are currently open. Abstract deadline is April 30. Registration deadline is May 14. More information, including a draft agenda, is available on the conference web site listed above. We will add more information as it becomes available, so please check back frequently. We hope to see you in Pasadena! Harold Yorke, OC Chair
