The goal is to bring together instrument experts, Legacy teams, and general observers, who may be attending New Views (although this is not a pre-requisite) to share information about the calibration of Spitzer data. This FREE workshop is intended to address our current state of knowledge of Spitzer calibration. Please see http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/ost/workshop/2004calib/ . A tentative list of topics to be covered include: -Flux calibration *Point-source calibration for IRAC, MIPS 24m, and IRS Peak-up images *Calibration of the MIPS Ge bands *Spectral calibration of IRS and MIPS SED modes *Calibration of extended sources *Modeling of calibration sources in the infrared *Cross-calibration of the instruments -Pointing calibration *Pointing information from spacecraft telemetry *Refining pointing using science data *Estimation of distortions -Other calibration-related items *Estimation of point-response functions *Detector "features" Other topics to be added. If you would like to contribute a short talk on a topic above, or a related topic, please indicate this on the registration form at the website and provide a tentative title and short talk description. Note that registration for this workshop is separate from registration for the New Views Conference. You need not attend both. Also, registration for New Views does not guarantee registration for this workshop. So, register today for the workshop! Registration is currently limited to 60 participants. Deadline for workshop registration: 2004 Oct 1. If you have any questions regarding the workshop not covered on the webpage, please feel free to email the workshop organizers at obsplan@ipac.caltech.edu. See you there! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Documentation updates We have just released SOM v. 4.6, which includes updates to the IRS chapter. It is available on the SSC website: http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/documents/som/ Just so you know our schedule, we will be working over the next three months to update all of our documentation in preparation for the release of the Call for Proposals for Cycle-2 in early November. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mac users of Spitzer Pride should download the latest version from the download page - some users reported autoupdate did not work for them. http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/propkit/spot
