Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2005 15:14:40 -0800 (PST) From: Spitzer Science Center HelpDesk Subject: SIRTF: Spot updates, IRAC sensitivity errata and SOFIA newsletters Contents of mailing: 1) Spot Update- Please activate auto-update option 2) Erratum on IRAC sensitivities 3) SOFIA email newsletters ------------------------------------------------------------ Spot update: A Spot v11.3 (auto-update only) update has just been released. This update fixes the name change in the IRSA server (which changed names today) and the a bug which was found when editing the fixed cluster offsets target type. To obtain the update have Option-> Auto-update selected within Spot. For those institutions with a networked installation of Spot, you will likely need to request that your sys admin start Spot to retrieve this update. ------------------------------------------------------------- Erratum on IRAC senstivities: The sensitivities listed in the Spitzer Observers Manual and the Performance Estimation Tool for subarray observations need to be corrected. The in-flight measured throughput for point sources was not taken into account, so these are pre-launch estimates. Sensitivities for full array observations (the vast majority of all proposed) are already correct and do not need to be changed. To obtain the updated subarray sensitivities, take the ones from the version 4.0 SOM and divide by 1.06, 0.84, 0.45, and 0.61 in channels 1, 2, 3, and 4, respetively. The corrected subarray saturation limits are as given in version 4.0 of the SOM, multiplied by 1.06, 0.84, 0.45, and 0.61 in channels 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. ------------------------------------------------------------ SOFIA Newsletters: The SOFIA mission produces quarterly e-mail newsletters.
