New IRS Data Handbook 3. Reminder: Next version of Spot/Leopard for Mac - OS 10.4 or higher required 4. Calgary AAS & media activity 1. Updated version of MOPEX for solaris/linux There is an updated MOPEX version along with new documentation: http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/postbcd/ New features in this version of MOPEX include: * A new outlier detection method called Box Outlier * A new perl script for computing aperture photometry (aperture.pl) 2. New IRS Data Handbook There is a new IRS data handbook: http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/irs/dh/ The new version of the IRS Data Handbook has significant changes with respect to the old one. In particular, the file naming convention has been updated, there are new delivered products, there is a new chapter devoted to Peak-Up Imaging, and there is a tutorial on how to reduce spectroscopic data. 3. Reminder: Next version of Spot/Leopard for Mac - OS 10.4 or higher required Version 14 of Spitzer-Pride (Spot/Leopard) to be released in May 2006 will use Java 1.5. For Mac OS users this upgrade in Java will **require** the use of Mac OS 10.4 or later and the installation of Java 1.5. As is usually the case, older versions of Spot/Leopard will not be able to 'talk' to SSC servers once Version 14 has been deployed so all users who access SSC services through the Mac OS 10 version of Spot/Leopard will need to upgrade to OS 10.4 or later at that time. Java 1.5 for Mac is available at this URL: http://www.apple.com/java This is just an early warning for our Mac users that this upgrade will need to be done at that time. 4.
