Astrophysics in the Next Decade meeting in September ---------------------------------------------------------- Spitzer users may be interested in the upcoming "Astrophysics in the Next Decade: JWST and Concurrent Facilities" meeting to be held in Tucson, AZ, 2007 September 24-27. The goals of this meeting are to engage the community in the exciting science that JWST, ALMA, VLT/Gemini+2ndGen Instruments, and other exciting new facilities will enable in the 2010-2020 period. In particular JWST, an infrared telescope employing a beryllium mirror and in orbit at L2, is the natural successor to the Spitzer Space Telescope. JWST will explore many science topics currently being pioneered by Spitzer (e.g., planetary systems and the origins of life, the birth of stars and protoplanetary systems, the assembly of galaxies, first light), and opportunities afforded by JWST and other concurrent facilities may be of interest to current Spitzer users. For more information, registration details, and lists of speakers, talks, and participants, see http://www.stsci.edu/institute/conference/jwst2007. Please note the recently reduced registration fees for students. Special rates at the Marriott Starr Pass can be obtained if you contact the hotel before 2007 September 7. 2.
