Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2008 16:14:58 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Data from IRS Campaign 48 (2008 Feb 19-Mar 1) and SPICE We have uncovered two issues related to the recently archived IRS campaign 48. These issues affect all modules (SL, SH, LL, LH): 1) The FITS headers have an incorrect value for the CAL_SET keyword. The current CAL_SET keyword is S17.0.A, and it should be S17.2POST44.A. This makes it impossible for SPICE to find the correct calibration files when analyzing data from this campaign. 2) The most recent version of the EXTRACT module, which is run as part of the post-BCD IRS pipeline to produce calibrated, 1D spectra, has not yet been included in SPICE. These two issues do not affect the quality of the data, but only the ability for SPICE to process them. In particular, using SPICE to extract spectra taken during campaign 48 will produce incorrect results. Within the next week, IRS Campaign 48 will be reprocessed and rearchived. Users will be notified by email in the usual manner when the data are available. Users can also check the "Version" column in Leopard, as the updated IRS campaign 48 data will have a Version of S17.2.0. Over the same period, an updated SPICE, with the current version of the EXTRACT pipeline module, will be made available. It is recommended that the "Use Automatic SPICE Version Update" option (under the SPICE Options menu) has been selected, when using SPICE, so that you will always be using the latest version.
